  • What is your assessment about the current Facilities Management scenario in India? How does it compare to global standards?

Spacewell>> Facilities management market in India is evolving and will continue to do so in time to come. However it is an unorganised sector in India dominated by smaller players compared to global markets. APAC in general and India in particular has strong growth potential for FM services market. Lack of trained manpower, high employee turnover and limited use of technology are the major concerns impacting FM industry in India.

  • What are the key challenges related to implementing Facilities Management solutions within a large organisation in India?

Spacewell>> We believe the biggest challenge is limited awareness and focus towards FM solutions. In majority of the organizations, FM services are outsourced and the partner is expected to bring the desired results under tight cost constraints. That leaves limited incentives for both the organization and FM services partner to innovate. Though fast changing, but availability of cheap labour and short-term vision further disincentivize the organization to look for mature FM solutions.

  • Please tell us about some of your new products and technologies that are revolutionising the Facilities Management space.

Spacewell>> Spacewell has been at the fore-front of innovation by integrating end to end processes of facility, real-estate and workplace management domain. The entire solution is enabled on smart touch-points like Web UI, mobile, touch-screen kiosks and tablets. IoT powered sensors can monitor building ambience parameters like temperature, CO2, humidity and more. Big data analytics helps in monitoring of space utilization and optimization of service delivery.

Spacewell invests heavily in data science to support decision support systems bringing efficiency and costs savings.

All these solutions are available on cloud platforms saving manpower and maintenance cost.

  • Please tell us about how post-Covid you are helping Facility Managers in optimising services across organisations?

Spacewell>> Covid pandemic has forced Facility managers to reorient the FM services to ensure well being of the building occupiers. Our solutions are helping organizations to maintain social distancing by suggesting seating plans to employees planning to come to office. Spacewell space monitoring solutions can send alerts to Facility managers for crowded zones.
Mobile enabled Cleaning and inspection plans depicted on floor plans help the housekeeping staff to execute their work effectively.
Likewise there are further more solutions being released continuously to address evolving needs of the market.

  • What are your plans to further penetrate the Indian Facilities Management market?
