BVG Continues Strong On Mission Corona Eradication

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently announced a 21-day lock-down to arrest the spread of corona virus. BVG India Limited is continuing its work steadfastly hand in hand with the government on corona eradication mission throughout India. BVG India Limited is providing cleaning, sanitisation and sterilization services at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, AIIMS in Delhi and Raipur, as well as the two corona-care designated hospital in in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, which is Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital and New Bhosari Hospital, appointed for the care of corona patients. Along with these, BVG India Limited is also serving at Jijamata Hospital and DY Patil Hospital in Pimpri, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur, PGI in Rohtak and Chandigarh and ILBS at Delhi, along with many other places. The responsibility of cleaning and disinfecting public bus stations and buses in Delhi is also handled by BVG.

“We have seen from the examples of other countries that corona virus could prove to be a major hindrance to the country’s progress if not controlled in time. Therefore, the steps taken by the central government and all the state governments are very important. I am proud of and I salute all our staff members who are working day and night at the forefront of the fight against corona,” Mr Hanmantrao Gaikwad, CMD, BVG India Limited said.

It is also important to keep cities clean in eliminating corona. BVG India Limited is also handling waste management in cities like Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nagpur, Jaipur, Shirdi, Barshi, etc, which includes collection, processing and disposal. BVG India Limited is also handling the tasks of cleaning roads in Noida, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Navi Mumbai. The Pune Railway Station is also functioning partially, where BVG India Limited undertakes the entire responsibility of maintaining the railway station, except train ticket booking, train scheduling.

Another major responsibility in the corona eradication campaign is the emergency medical ambulatory services (Dial 108) operated by state governments. BVG India Limited handles this service all over Maharashtra, including the call centre. 937 ambulances stationed over Maharashtra continue to provide emergency medical help to all citizens. In each city, some of these ambulances have been assigned for the Corona eradication campaign, where they undertake transfers of corona suspects, as well as patients who recover after treatment. The same service is also operated by BVG India Limited in Andhra Pradesh.

On 24 March 2020 BVG India Limited launched this service for the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. In this service, both 102 and 108 services have been made available for the citizens in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. 102 service is available especially for the care and transfer of pregnant women, new born babies and their mothers, while 108 is available for all citizens in any medical emergencies.

An advanced call centre over three hundred personnel has been set up in Jammu for the implementation of this service, said Dr Dnyaneshwar Shelke, COO-EMS Service, BVG India Limited. We will provide the best service in all the districts including the remote areas,” said Mr Gaikwad.

BVG India Limited is also helping in maintaining law and order in Madhya Pradesh, where BVG handles the police emergency helpline Dial 100 for the Madhya Pradesh Police, as well as the entire network of 1000 first responder vehicles that reach for assistance after the call.
